Implementing better data centre racks using best practice

Data centre racks have come a long way, but many basics are missed in installation. Racks also need to be Internet of Things (IoT) enabled with very few in this neck of the savannah having that functionality. It its basic form a rack is no different that an overgrown biltong drying device but using IT equipment is more complex than just drying salted meat. 

Here we will describe a few deployment recommendations.

Battery Room Explosion

A hydrogen explosion occurred in an Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) battery room. The explosion blew a 400 ft2 hole in the roof, collapsed numerous walls and ceilings throughout the building, and significantly damaged a large portion of the 50,000 ft2 building.
