Revenue assurance in an ISP - mechanisms to claw back lost revenue

The fundamental Configuration Management Database (CMDB) requirement for an Internet Service Provider (ISP) is IP address management. One tool that provides this is TeemIP which is listed in this guide here. Commercial alternatives exist which includes those available from Infoblox. These database are used to record the IP addresses allocated to customers as well as internal network links. Without a workable IP address that is propagated upstream to peering exchanges a client will not have connectivity.

Battery Room Explosion

A hydrogen explosion occurred in an Uninterruptible Power Source (UPS) battery room. The explosion blew a 400 ft2 hole in the roof, collapsed numerous walls and ceilings throughout the building, and significantly damaged a large portion of the 50,000 ft2 building.
