When a chessboard is setup for play the rules are will defined. The
black pieces are on one side and the white pieces on the other. Between
them are empty positions where no pieces are placed. There are important
pieces placed in strategic locations and then there are the pawns. The
pawns are less important but have their place. Then finally, each piece
has attributes which are apparent by the position in which they are
placed.
