The Platanna, also known as the African Clawed Frog, is an aquatic
species found in South Africa. Since the 1930’s these frogs have been
the backbone for research into modern biology. The frog is quite hardy
and many research subjects have escaped into the wild and as a result it
has been classified as a pest in certain states in North America.
